What is JUVÉDERM®?

JUVÉDERM® products are cosmetic fillers made from hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in skin, and helps it retain moisture, which is what keeps your skin soft. JUVÉDERM® can help reverse the effects of wrinkles and loss of skin volume by restoring skin to its proper texture and volume.

Why consider JUVÉDERM®?

As you age, your skin stops producing collagen and elastin in the amounts it does when you’re younger. This leads to skin becoming loose and sagging, which in turn leads to it pinching in the same places over and over, causing deep-set wrinkles. JUVÉDERM® treatments can help restore youthful vitality to your skin. Since JUVÉDERM® is an injection rather than a surgical procedure, recovery time is reduced.

How many JUVÉDERM® treatments will I need? How long do the results last?

Most patients will see their desired results in only one treatment in our office. After a brief recovery period, JUVÉDERM® results will last for about 9-12 months, depending on the patient.

What should I do after treatment?

JUVÉDERM®, like most cosmetic fillers, has a brief recovery period. You should avoid strenuous exercise, extensive sun exposure, and alcoholic beverages for the first 24 hours after the treatment. You may experience some redness, tenderness, and swelling around the injection site.
